Attendance & Grading
This is where most of your activity on this system will take place.  Select the Professor and Section to edit attendance information.  Then select the Scheduled Date of the class.  Use the Attended Check-box or Boxes to show the student attended as checked and those that were absent are shown as not checked.
The Check boxes labeled as Show Grid Fields can be used to show additional fields not currently in view.

Once you have completed your selections, use the Process This Section button to commit your changes. Note: Based on your selections Emails are sent automatically to each student that did not attend the selected class.  The emails are produced and sent when the Process Attendance button is clicked.

Attendance in Distance Learning classes is measured by participation.  Section 826, show above, is a DL course and therefore two attended check-boxes are shown.  Use the Check-boxes above the grid to show or hide grid elements as needed.

Attendance Data Grid View Control

This control allows you to edit various fields within the grid.  Some fields you may want to edit may not be visible. Use the Show GridView Fields Controls, above shown, to make additional fields available to edit.

Some fields in this grid are read only.  The action of change the value of those fields needed, and moving to another cell in the same row makes the edited field back color change to yellow showing you that the edited fields value has not yet been saved.  However when you change the currently selected cell to another row the edited cell highlighted color changes to light green showing you the changes have been saved. [True while Auto Save Featured is set as enabled.]

When the auto save feature is disabled, the application does not commit the change in value on the previously edited row until you have answered a Message Box that will appear as needed.  The Message Box will have an option to cancel edits to the row if selected.  In this procedure, a canceled edit will result in the edited cell value being recovered and its highlighted color changed to Light Blue.
